An emergent, self-organizing co-creation. But as to why people lie to themselves -- that was precisely the question on my mind earlier today. Is it because that behaviour has been modeled for us so successfully by those around us? And finally we accept just a little bit of it for ourselves, and habit sets in. And eventually we are convinced that our socks really match.
